{Travel Adventure}- Osaka, Japan; Part VIII

Hey all! Hope you are having a fantastic holiday! I am here to present you the final part of this Japan trip! We both have come a long way, you reading from Part 1 to me writing all 8 parts. I hope you have found great joy in reading as much as I writing this series. So without further ado, let’s begin writing this final and touching part of this series.

On the last day of our trip, right before we headed to the airport, we visited UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN! Everyone was filled with excitement they barely could contain themselves. IMG_8121

The lines were pretty manageable when you have awesome and fun people to queue with, they made it way less boring when in line.

I tried Butterbeer from Harry Potter world! It was just soda with oily whipped cream! :)

The last day in Japan was everything with the word fun! It was the right way to end a school trip to Japan! But, I have to give all credits to the people that made it extraordinary. They are true gems throughout this trip! IMG_8211 IMG_8242 With the whole day spent in USJ, it was time to head home. Everyone was knocked out on the flight back home. And that concludes this wonderful trip to Japan!

Thanks to this trip, I made many more good friends.

People whom I spent 2015 with… {Day 12 of 12 Days of Christmas}

As this series comes to an end, I would like to share with everyone, people whom I experienced fun, joy and laughter with.

Let’s begin!

IMG_9623 Shaheedah! One of my closest friend throughout Secondary school. Ever since school started this year, both of us were pretty busy in school, so therefore I ache for the days where we chat and gossip for hours again!

The Lovatics! We have spent a great amount of time together, laughing and goofing off with each other. Good times. IMG_0622 IMG_0177

And when school started…

My new classmates, whom are rather interesting and annoying at the same time! IMG_1655

ZYRA! Our ‘mother’ in school, always telling us the directions and homework that needs to be done. Oh! And also the powerduo to our practical classes! Truly grateful for you!

IMG_6803 IMG_3813

ANGELYN! My travel buddy, the bubble of joy and the food critic! School would be a bore without you! And you would see more of you in the following pictures.

IMG_5756

IMG_0030And Pearlyn! The crazy one, but weirdly enough, also the logical one. Oh! And the most mature one out of all of them! Thank you for appearing in my school days as I would not know what to do without a lunatic in my days in school.

IMG_9385

And during my recent trip to Japan, I made plenty more new friends, which made the trip enjoyable and AWESOME! IMG_8334 IMG_8119 IMG_8912IMG_8533

And of course, the 2 friends that stand by me since 6 years ago… IMG_1765

Joslyn, sometimes hyper and sometimes, always a bore. But as always, I enjoy the time spent with you anytime and anywhere! IMG_2794

Melvin! The person who always got my back, went through thick and thin with me and tolerated me the most! Thank you for always staying by my side whenever and wherever!  IMG_1537

And not forgetting, FAMILY! IMG_3921

IMG_0218 IMG_0187  IMG_0086

To those whom I did not mention in this blog, please do not be offended. I might not have pictures of us together therefore there isn’t a feature of you in it. The memories we made together are in my heart. 🙂

Well… This is the end of 12 Days of Christmas. I had the greatest joy writing 12 post for this festive season. Thank you for reading, either 1 of them or all of them. Have a wonderful Christmas, eat loads of turkey, ham and log cakes! Till the next time, Ciao~

{Travel Adventures}- Nara, Kyoto and Osaka, Japan;Part VII {Day 11 of 12 Days of Christmas}

One more part left for this Japan trip… Bittersweet writing this series as I had the most incredible time in Japan with lovely people and had awesome food.

For day 7, it was all sightseeing and no work. Since we were in Kyoto, we visited Higashiyama District. They have the cutest traditional shophouses, selling souvenirs and food! There are various shrine on a hill, which required a little climbing.

I was on top of a shrine, overseeing a very traditional architecture.

After visiting the shrines, we headed to Nara deer park, where wild deers roam around freely. I also hear that people get fined for hurting the deers. You could see more pictures and short videos on my instagram@Peigeebakes.  IMG_7912 IMG_7929 IMG_7937

All I wanted to do was get a selfie with a deer, but all it wanted to do was sniff my jacket.

When night falls, our tour guide sneaked in an impromptu shopping trip for us! We got our train tickets and set off to the busy streets of Osaka for a night of shopping! Each one of us came back with handful of bags and my friends and I managed to grab a snack by the streets. IMG_8098

Our snack was Takoyaki, which were the best ones I ever tasted my whole life!

After shopping, we headed back to the hotel and rested for the night as it was a BIG day the next day…

That’s all for today, folks! I hope you have enjoyed this post and stay tune for the very last part of this series as I would insert something special. Till next time, Ciao~

A vegan lunch. {Day 10, part 2 of 12 Days of Christmas}

Hey all, I am back with the 2nd post for today! And I would be sharing an Asian recipe today, but with minimal ingredients. So let’s begin!

I created this recipe as I rummaged through my kitchen fridge that day. We had leftover lettuce and tofu in the fridge, therefore I created the recipe! This is a lettuce salad wrap recipe!

IMG_9968

Lettuce Salad Wrap

Ingredients:

  • Romaine lettuce (The bigger the leaves, the easier to get your mouth filled with all the ingredients)
  • Half of a red chili (More if you like it spicier)
  • Half firm tofu
  • Half carrot and cucumber
  • Some parsley, basil and mint
  • a handful of vermicelli noodles
  • About 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 cup of white vinegar
  • A heap 1/2 tablespoon of salt
  • 2-3 tablespoon Thai chili sauce

Directions:

  1. Slice carrot and cucumber into paper thin slices. Soak in white vinegar and salt mixture. Leave it aside on tabletop or in the fridge
  2. Soak vermicelli noodles in boiling water, till soften. After it softens, remove noodles and pour about 1 teaspoon of sesame oil onto noodles, to prevent it from sticking.
  3. Slice firm tofu and soak in water that was used to cook the noodles.
  4. Cut the chili into thin strips, removing the seeds.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, place noodles, tofu, chili and herbs together. Toss it with the leftover sesame oil and thai chili sauce.
  6. To assemble, grab a massive lettuce leaf, place the salad mixture, adding the carrots and cucumber last.
  7. Serve with more herbs at side with lime wedges!

IMG_9966

There are many variations of this recipe, most lettuce wrap recipe require fish sauce, but fish sauce require acquired taste, and if I have a choice, I would leave the ingredient out. Therefore I substituet it with thai chili sauce. You could also sprinkle chopped peanuts on top of the wrap to add texture to the dish.

It is such an easy meal to make, it keeps you full, provide all the nutrients you need!

Thank you taking your time here and till tomorrow, Ciao~

Chasing the sun in Bali {Day 10 of 12 Days of Christmas}

Thousands of apologies for not posting anything yesterday as I was feeling under the weather and could not bring myself to write anything. Therefore I would compensate today with 2 new post! This post would be a short one because I would love to let the pictures speak for itself… IMG_0474.JPG IMG_0477.JPG

That’s it for this post, this post was a short one as I had to allow the pictures to speak for itself and Bali’s sunset. Their sunsets are gorgeous and and colourful. I could stand there for the entire sunset and not blink for a second. Ok, maybe that’s exaggerating, but basically I would sacrifice 10 mins just for those colours.

We are just 3 days away for Christmas and I cannot get more excited!! I hope you are enjoying the posts so far and please stay tune for the last 2 post on my 12 Days of Christmas. Till then, Ciao~

What I eat in a day in Bali! {Day 8 of 12 Days of Christmas}

With all the times I’ve been to Bali, I realised I have not showed you what I ate in a day there! So today, I would like to share with you what I ate for a day in Bali from my recent trip there!

For breakfast, our villa provided breakfast and I selected classic french-toast. It was done till the insides of the bread remained a soft and chewy. And there were fruits and tea. IMG_0143

Lunch was heavy, very heavy. We went to a restaurant known for it’s fried duck. We had a plate of fried duck rice, satay (grilled chicken kebabs in bite size) and Gado Gado (Indonesian salad with peanut sauce). It was a fantastic meal. I was stuffed. IMG_0212 The meal to end the day was classy and chic. I had gnocchi with dory served with a lemon sauce. It was a good meal to end the day. IMG_0495

All in all, the food I ate in Bali were fabulous and delicious, and I might think I have gained weight after every trip there!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and thank you for reading! Till next time, Ciao~

The villa that I stayed that provided breakfast- The Club Villa.

Lunch- Bebek Joni. They serve a variety of local delights which made order a tad bit difficult.

Dinner- Ultimo.  Ultimo is a chic Italian restaurant with a lovely dinning atmosphere, suitable for couples and family. They serve a wide range of reasonably priced Italian food with wines and many other beverages!
